Stay at home date ideas

After 9 weeks in lockdown, I’m sure I can’t be the only one who’s getting bored of this quarantine. Don’t get me wrong I love spending 24/7 with my other half but we ran out of Netflix content to watch about 3 weeks ago. Here are a few of our favorite at-home date ideas that will hopefully keep you busy long enough for the lockdown to end.

Mid-afternoon picnic: We’ve been blessed with some lovely sunshine here in the UK so grab whatever is in your fridge or even better make my favorite summer salad recipe and take it outside. Don’t forget a bottle of bubbles and a few sweet treats.

Dress up take out dinner: Why does food taste better when you didn’t have to prepare it yourself? Having a night off from cooking and not having to clean up sounds like heaven right now. Order from your favorite take away restaurant, get all dolled up, and sit down for a nice romantic dinner at home.

Play a board game: Board games are always a good laugh. One of my favorites is called Sequence, a little mix of strategy and luck. It’s easy to set up and can be played between 2 to 12 people.

Play garden games: If the weather is nice then why not take advantage of your garden. We’ve been obsessed with playing Quoits. If you’re more into your sports then try out Speedminton.

Have a cook-off: Why not make it a competition!? Cook your other half a new dish you’ve never made before and vice versa. See who can come up with the best desserts.

Make your own booze: Why not start making your own gin? This make-your-own Gin kit gives you 2 date nights in one. You can make your own gin and have a tasting a week later. All you need is a bottle of inexpensive vodka and this kit.
